Joseph Gyourko of the Wharton School spoke about the effects of remote work on business districts. With fewer workers in the area, Gyourko said, “You just don’t need as many Starbucks, or haircut places. Those folks are going to disappear. Some of these buildings, non-office buildings, will become empty. We won’t need as many.”
