Celebrating Archaeological Science

Student Making Workshop: Yoruba Indigo Dye

At this Penn Museum Making Workshop, students will see stitch-resist adire cloth from the Museum’s collection, learn the wax-resist technique with Philadelphia artist Yemisi Ajayi, and create their own indigo-dyed cloth to take home. Free for Penn students. Dinner and materials are provided. Attendees are advised to wear clothes they don’t mind staining.

Global Collections and You!

This session, designed for international students, those planning to study abroad, or students planning to do research in languages other than English, will provide an overview of Penn’s Global Collections. Participants will learn how to find resources across hundreds of languages at and beyond Penn. From the Frontlines to the Bedside

The Penn community is invited to the opening of “Spit and Polish All the Time”—an exhibit on the experience of Black nurses during World War II—with the Barbara Bates Center’s recent acquisition of Major Nancy Leftenant-Colon photographs on display.
