Penn Grad Student Wins Miss Pennsylvania Title
PHILADELPHIA - Rachel Brooks, a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania's Fels Institute of Government is the new Miss Pennsylvania and will represent the state in the Miss America Pageant.The 24-year-old from Broomall, Pa., competed as Miss River City.

Thomas S. Robertson Is Named Dean of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School
PHILADELPHIA -- Thomas S. Robertson, executive faculty director of the Institute for Developing Nations at Emory University and former dean of Emory's Goizueta Business School, has been named dean of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. The appointment, effective Aug. 1, was announced by Penn President Amy Gutmann and Provost Ron Daniels.
Penn Receives Rockefeller Foundation Grant to Fund Fellowships to Rebuild New Orleans
PHILADELPHIA - The Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence at University of Pennsylvania's School of Design has received a $2.2 million grant to fund fellowships to advance the redevelopment process in New Orleans. Penn fellows will work as project managers and collaborate with the Department of Planning and Urban Studies at the University of New Orleans and local officials.
Penn Departments Test Use of Alternative Fuel in Vehicles
PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania will test a newly developed biodiesel fuel made from waste grease from commercial kitchens. The fuel, produced by Philadelphia Fry-o-Diesel, LLC, a biodiesel production company, is cleaner burning than petroleum diesel.
Vincent Price Named Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs at University of Pennsylvania
PHILADELPHIA -- Vincent Price has been named associate provost for faculty affairs at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Steven H. Chaffee Professor of Communication and Political Science at Penn's Annenberg School for Communication and will assume his new position on July 1.
