Armistice Day Exhibit
Penn Libraries’ new World War I exhibit, “Life During Wartime: Penn at Home and Abroad During the Great War,” commemorates the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day with the experiences of Penn faculty, students, and alumni from 1914 through 1918. Among other themes, displayed artifacts explore the challenge of being outside of a war-favoring, white majority during the time period. A symposium, held April 5 at 3 p.m. on the library's sixth floor, will feature local historians in a discussion of music during the war, innovative rehab tactics for the wounded, and wartime contributions of Penn professors.
