Control Societies
Bernard E. Harcourt, a professor of law and political science at Columbia University, lectures on the sociology of punishment, social and political theory, and penal law, based on the writings in his 2015 text Exposed: Desire and Disobedience in the Digital Age and other published works about counterrevolution and the “myth of natural order” in the free markets. This talk is part of the School of Social Policy and Practice's “Control Societies” series, exploring the social, cultural, economic, and political implications of digital information and communication technologies, networks, and systems.
