Confabulation Lecture Night

The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation invites the public to join for a night of confabulated lectures based on artworks from the exhibition We Are Nature, featuring artworks from Penn's art collection. The short lectures will be developed in collaboration with Obvious Agency. No prior knowledge of the artworks is necessary.

‘The Illuminated Body’

“Barbara Earl Thomas: The Illuminated Body” features the latest series of portraits by the artist. It is her Philadelphia debut and includes nine large-scale cut paper pieces that celebrate Black cultural icons such as August Wilson, Seth Parker Woods, and Charles Johnson, alongside Thomas’ friends, family, and acquaintances.
