The Penn Institute for Urban Research and Penn Press welcome Enrique Peñalosa Londoño, a former mayor of Bogotá, Colombia, who will deliver a talk about equality and the city. The talk will be followed by a panel featuring Manny Diaz, a former mayor of Miami; Richard Freeland, a former president of Northeastern University; urban planner Eleanor Sharpe; and former Penn President Judith Rodin.

Lunar New Year 2025

Children in colorful and eccentric lion costumes for the traditional Lion Dance

Penn Museum presents its 44th annual Lunar New Year celebration, as part of the CultureFest! series. Attendees can celebrate the Year of the Snake with lion dancing, a performance from Penn K-Beats, and a panel discussion about the similarities and differences in Lunar New Year celebrations across cultures.

Inauguration Picnic and Concert

Penn celebrates the Inauguration Day of President Elizabeth Magill with food, giveaways, and live music, including signature bites from CookNSolo restaurants (Zahav, Federal Donuts, Goldie), picnic fare from Neuman’s Kitchen, and a scoop of a specially made ice cream by Philadelphia’s own Bassetts: Penn-augural Berry Chocolate Chunk.
