The Arthur Ross Gallery presents this exhibition of historical and contemporary images that reflect on issues of humanity, the environment, governance, justice, resilience, and social change. Forty-three works will be presented. Visitors should register in advance of their visit; 10 visitors will be allowed inside at all times.

Thomas Kraines & Kinan Abou-afach

Celloists performing

Cellist Thomas Kraines of Daedalus Quartet joins cellist, oudist, and composer Kinan Abou-afach for a performance of original compositions and improvisations. A new work by composer Gene Coleman will also be premiered.

Power of Haitian Women

Haitian women gathered at a market

For International Women's Day, the Center for Experimental Ethnography presents a screening of "Madan Sara: The Power of Haitian Women." The film tells the story of women working along the margins of the Haitian economy, selling essential goods. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion.

Former PHILADANCO dancer Hope Boykin makes her choreographic Philadelphia debut with "Redefine US, from the INside OUT.," about rethinking the ideas and words we use to describe ourselves. This is a live event performed on stage at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.

MLK Interfaith Commemoration

A spiritual conversation in social justice, this interfaith commemoration honors Martin Luther King Jr. Appearing in the pre-recorded event is The Shabbatones, The Inspiration, and student leaders. Remarks will also be made by Penn President Amy Gutmann and Provost Wendell Pritchett.
