The talk will be followed by a panel featuring Manny Diaz, a former mayor of Miami; Richard Freeland, a former president of Northeastern University; urban planner Eleanor Sharpe; and former Penn President Judith Rodin.

Lunar New Year 2025

Penn Museum presents its 44th annual Lunar New Year celebration, as part of the CultureFest! series. Attendees can celebrate the Year of the Snake with lion dancing, a performance from Penn K-Beats, and a panel discussion about the similarities and differences in Lunar New Year celebrations across cultures.

Nicole Maestas

The Leonard Davis Institute welcomes Nicole Maestas, an associate professor of health care policy at Harvard Medical School and a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research, where she directs its Retirement and Disability Research Center. Maestas will discuss her current work investigating the causes of the opioid epidemic and its impact on employment.
