Kathleen Hall Jamieson, a professor of communication and director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, is honored with the Franklin Founder Award in celebration of Benjamin Franklin's birthday. Speaking on the panel in discussion about restoring confidence in America's institutions: Kenneth Frazier, Paul Offit, Margaret Levi, and Jeffrey Rosen. This event is free but requires registration.

Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw, an associate professor of Latin American and Latino Studies, Cinema Studies, and Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies, discusses the largest-ever exhibition of portraits of First Ladies. The exhibit is currently on view at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery.

This digital exhibition from the Weitzman School of Design's Center for the Preservation of Civil Rights Sites asks participants to submit photos of public spaces that commemorate civil rights. The deadline for submission is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, on Jan. 18
