The Sakura Collection Fashion Design Award aims to connect Japan's traditional industry with young creators from around the world to generate new ideas for the future. Designs featuring traditional Japanese materials are submitted from all over the world for this fashion show. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for East Asian Studies at Penn and will feature remarks from Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and Mikio Mori, ambassador, consul-general of Consulate General of Japan, New York.
