The Stuff of Social Media
Wendy Hui Kyong Chun, a visiting scholar for Penn's Center for Media at Risk, draws a parallel between residential segregation and the oft-talked-about segregation felt on social media today. Here, she argues the longstanding segregations will need to cease before social media's underlying segregation problems can be effectively addressed. The talk is part of the Wolf Humanities Center's yearlong forum on “Stuff.”
