Penn Engineering Establishes Rachleff Scholars Program to Foster Research, Leadership, Community Outreach
PHILADELPHIA –- The School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania has established the Rachleff Scholars honors program offering undergraduates the early opportunity to conduct research with University faculty, organize partnerships with regional industry and perform community outreach.
Penn to Host International Research Forum of Nine APEC Members to Improve Math, Science Teacher Preparation
PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education will host delegations of senior education researchers and policy makers from nine members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum on Oct. 26-27 to plan an international study on secondary-school math- and science-teacher preparation.
”Kings, Chiefs and Women of Power: Images From Nigeria” to Open at Penn’s Arthur Ross Gallery
PHILADELPHIA — “Kings, Chiefs and Women of Power: Images From Nigeria,” which opens at the University of Pennsylvania’s Arthur Ross Gallery on Nov. 14, is an exhibit of 30 large Cibachrome prints by Phyllis Galembo.These photographs, taken in 1993-1994, highlight the costumes, customs and traditions of the Benin and southern Nigerian communities.

The Tiffany & Co. Foundation Gives $2 Million to Penn for HIV/AIDS Treatment Center in Botswana
PHILADELPHIA -- The Botswana-UPenn Partnership has received a $2 million grant from The Tiffany & Co. Foundation to join with the Botswana Ministry of Health in building a facility for HIV/AIDS treatment in Botswana and to support the University of Pennsylvania's health-care initiative through clinical care, education and research.

”Process in Print” at Penn’s Arthur Ross Gallery
PHILADELPHIA — “Process in Print: The David and Susan Goode Collection,” which opens at the University of Pennsylvania’s Arthur Ross Gallery on Sept. 13, is an exhibit of 30 master prints dating from the early 20th century to the present that features various methods of printmaking, including aquatint, etching, intaglio, lithography, silkscreen, screenprint and woodblock.
