WHAT: "What's at Stake in the Farm Bill?" panel discussion, co-sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania Fox Leadership Program, FarmEcology, Penn's Civic House and Graduate Program in Public Health Studies.

The panelists will discuss the Farm Bill, currently being debated in Congress, and its implications for the obesity epidemic, food safety, animal welfare, the environment, energy policy and hunger in the U.S. and abroad.

The event is part of the ongoing "food programming" scheduled at Penn this year to follow up on the themes raised by author Michael Pollen's "The Omnivore's Dilemma," read and discussed by thousands of incoming students as part of this year's Penn Reading Project.  Imhoff's latest book, "Food Fight: A Citizen's Guide to the Farm Bill," includes a forward by Pollen.
