For the second year in a row, the Philadelphia 76ers will hold their Blue X White Scrimmage at the Palestra on Tuesday, Sept. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will be fans’ first opportunity to see the 2018-19 76ers team.
Tickets to the Scrimmage will be free to the general public starting Tuesday, Sept. 18, via 76ers social media platforms.
“We are excited to bring the Blue x White Scrimmage back to the Palestra for the second straight year,” says Brett Brown, head coach of the 76ers. “This historic gym, which is so rich in basketball tradition, provides the perfect atmosphere to introduce this year’s team to our awesome fans. Last year’s scrimmage was electric, and we look forward to sharing our excitement for the upcoming season on September 25.”
The Sixers went 52-30 in the regular season last year and finished third in the Eastern Division, advancing to the NBA Playoffs for the first time in six seasons. They defeated the Miami Heat 4 games to 1 in the first round before falling to the Boston Celtics 4 games to 1 in the semifinals of the Eastern Conference.
All-Star center Joel Embiid returns, as well as NBA Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons, NBA All-Defensive First Team member Robert Covington, and sharpshooter JJ Redick.
