WHAT: As part of the Arts and the City Year event series, the University of Pennsylvania will hold its first “Arts Crawl,” a full day of events offered by more than two dozen arts and culture groups. WHO:Arts and Culture groups from campus, as well as the Philadelphia region

PHILADELPHIA –- Internationally acclaimed maestro James A. DePreist received the University of Pennsylvania’s first Creative Spirit Award in recognition of his artistic leadership and life-long commitment to the arts.

 WHAT: A groundbreaking at the University of Pennsylvania for its 24-acre, $46 million Penn Park that features pedestrian walks, three athletic fields and a 12-court outdoor tennis facility and will bring 20 percent more open space to the campus.

 PHILADELPHIA –- The University of Pennsylvania will officially break ground at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, for its 24-acre Penn Park, a $46 million project at the eastern edge of campus that features open space, athletic fields and tennis courts.

WHAT:In a new twist to an old Halloween favorite, residents of neighborhoods surrounding the University of Pennsylvania will be treated to candy and information about recycling and composting in Philadelphia as well as energy-conservation tips in a “reverse” trick-or-treating event. WHO:

 PHILADELPHIA –- A film screening, information displays, a bicycle that generates electricity and reverse trick-or-treating on Halloween are among events this week at the University of Pennsylvania in observance of Energy Awareness Week.

 

 WHAT:The University of Pennsylvania’s 17th annual Family Day, featuring a tailgate party, football game, special tours of the Penn Museum and ice skating at the Penn Ice Rink. The event is hosted by the Division of Human Resources, in association with Penn Athletics.WHO:Faculty and staff are invited to bring their families and friends.
