    During these hot days of summer, the cool of a garden water feature depicted in “In the Garden” by artist Jennifer Bartlett could provide some respite. Made of 270 one-foot-square steel plates painted with enamel, sections of the mural are installed in five locations in Van Pelt Library.

    Gwendolyn DuBois Shaw named inaugural faculty director of the Arthur Ross Gallery

    Shaw, a renowned scholar and teacher of American art who has been at Penn for almost 20 years, assumed the new role effective June 1.

    Penn Glee Club goes to Italy

    Rome, Milan, and Naples became the stage for the Penn Glee Club during its 10-day tour of Italy. Thirty-seven members went on the trip, mostly vocalists, but also members of the band and the tech crew.
