Vincent Price, provost of the University of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Presidential Innovation Lab, an effort by the American Council on Education to examine possible models, inspired by changes from new educational technologies such as massive open online courses, or MOOCs, to boost the number of Americans able to earn a college degree.

One of the most unique traditions in sports, the toast toss at the University of Pennsylvania was one of 32 selected for the College Football Traditions Tournament.

  The University of Pennsylvania Hindu Student Council has been named “chapter of the year” by the National Hindu Student Council.  The Penn HSC chapter is recognized for excellence in campus ministry to and with the University’s Hindu population. 

For a select group of engineering undergraduates in the Rachleff Scholars Program at the University of Pennsylvania, summer will be spent conducting research that ranges from robotics to cancer cells.

More than two weeks ago, a four-story building under demolition collapsed on top of the Salvation Army Thrift Store at 22nd and Market streets, killing six people and injuring 13.   Before firefighters and emergency rescue workers could arrive on the scene, ordinary passersby ran to the site to help those trapped in the rubble.
