PHILADELPHIA –- The University of Pennsylvania has expanded child-care options and inaugurated a new backup-care initiative.
WHAT: Shadowing Day, a city-wide program for 9th-grade students in the Philadelphia School District, coordinated by the Philadelphia Youth Network. The visiting students will spend the day learning about the host workplace, the kind of jobs the employees are doing and the education and experience needed to get such jobs.
PHILADELPHIA –- The University of Pennsylvania’s Green Fund will accept applications beginning Feb. 1 for a second round of one-time grants to be used to finance innovative ideas from students, faculty or staff that are designed to help Penn meet its sustainability goals, as outlined in its Climate Action Plan.
WHAT: The kick-off for 10 weeks of RecycleMania, when the University of Pennsylvania joins 400 schools across the nation to see which school can cut the most waste and increase its rate of recycling.
PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania wants the campus community to recycle 30 percent of its waste as it joins more than 400 colleges and universities nationwide participating in RecycleMania this year. RecycleMania is a 10-week competition for students, faculty and staff, designed to encourage both recycling and waste minimization.
The University of Pennsylvania Health System reported a $58 million operating profit for the three months that ended Sept. 30., with remarks from Keith Kasper.
