Bob Blake (C'72), "also known as "Bobby in the Lobby," plays Wednesday evenings at Penn's Faculty Club. The all-smiles alum calls the lounge his home away from home -- he plays from 5:30 p.m. till "whenever they bounce me out." While an undergrad, Blake says he wrote and produced the first musical ever presented at the then-newly-opened Zellerbach Theater. He continues special appearances all over campus; in February, he appeared as Alfie Doolittle in Penn Law School's presentation of "My Fair Lady." At the Faculty Club, he boasts a repertoire of more than 2,000 songs. "I like to think I can play everyone's favorite song," Blake said. He'll readily play you "Bobby in the Lobby," his very own theme song, and offer up some obligatory patter: "My jokes are a little corny," he says, "'cause my dad was a colonel." Ba-dum-bump.
