Around Africa in an afternoon

The folkways, fables, fabrics and food of Africa are the focus of the University of Pennsylvania Museum’s 13th annual Celebration of African Cultures on Saturday, Feb. 16.

The day-long event features music, dance, storytelling, arts and crafts and children’s activities, including performances by the Women’s Sekere Ensemble, the Kulu Mele African American Dance Ensemble, musical-instrument-maker Adimu-Kuumba, and the African-American Stilt Ballet. Gallery tours showcase the Museum’s African collections, and the Museum Cafe will serve up a taste of Africa along with its regular menu.
