Brown Bag Matinee: “Clown”
A thought-provoking and entertaining addition to diversity-awareness training, this film follows the lives of three “Clown-Americans” and their families as they make poignant observations about life on the other side of stereotypes inspired by their clown heritage. This unique program combines drama and comedy to explore the effects of bias and racism in America.

Partnering with Your Boss
As an administrative professional, you are often called upon to communicate, plan, organize, negotiate and participate in decision-making at very high levels. Attend this seminar and you’ll return to work better able to support your organization’s/boss’s goals. You’ll learn how to adapt to various communication styles; how to establish trust, credibility and authority, to strengthen your relationship with your boss; and how to manage tasks that impact your boss’s productivity. The class is geared towards senior administrative support staff, executive secretaries, administrative assistants, staff assistants and executive assistants.

Transitioning to Management at Penn
This program will help new managers and supervisors at Penn ease into their roles. Participants will learn the difference between working and managing and understand why the delegation of work is a necessary skill. Participants will also receive guidance on establishing authority as a supervisor and will learn techniques for managing performance issues in the workplace. Key human resource management principles will also be covered.
Participants meet weekly and also work on-line, utilizing and becoming familiar with Penn’s resources on the Web.
