The second edition of the “University City Visitor’s Guide” is out, and it’s packed with even more protein than the original. The new guide includes for the first time a comprehensive directory of the area’s arts and cultural venues as well as listings for 25 additional retail establishments. 160,000 copies are being distributed to hotels throughout the region, the Independence Visitors Center, transportation hubs and college campuses, among other places. The guide is also useful for those who work in University City—“Every office at Penn should have a copy,” said Pam Kosty, assistant director for public information at the Penn Museum.

Welcome home

Before you make your move to new quarters, stop by the annual Housing Fair sponsored by the Office of Community Housing. Lenders, real estate agents, insurance brokers, home inspectors, credit counselors, financial services professionals and many other useful resources will be available at the fair to assist you through every step of the home buying process. Workshops and classes will introduce you to the fine points of purchasing a home, and you can obtain a copy of your credit report. The fair will take place May 5 from 10:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, 3417 Spruce St. For more information, call Community Housing at 215-898-7422.

Web site upgrade

The Current’s web site has undergone a total makeover. The new site, unveiled with the April 15 issue, is easier to navigate and easier to read, and it has a faster, more accurate search engine to boot.
