Everything’s a dollar: Think the days of $1 matinees are a thing of the past? Think again. The Bridge: Cinema de Lux is giving fans of the golden age of Hollywood the chance to see a couple of classics on the big screen for a mere buck. The Silver Screen Classics program—which shows memorable flicks made from the 1930s to ’80s—charges only a dollar for admission to the film, a bag of popcorn and a soda.

If you’ve already missed the rest of this year’s selections (“Holiday,” “Zorba the Greek” and “Bringing up Baby”), not to worry. Just mark your calendar for Tuesday, July 13 at 1 p.m. when The Bridge screens Billy Wilder’s 1954 film, “Sabrina,” starring Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. Roy Del Ruth’s comedy/musical satire, “Thanks a Million” (1935), starring Dick Powell and Ann Dvorak, screens on Aug. 10 at 1 p.m.

Belly up to the O-Bar: Since Copabanana opened its doors last fall at 40th and Spruce streets, it’s become a popular choice for West Philadelphians in search of Tex-Mex fare and above-average burgers.

Now, with the opening of the O-Bar in Copa’s basement, diners can stretch out their visit with a nightcap—exotic ingredients like pomegranate juice and coconut are the norm here—or a turn on the dance floor.

O-Bar owner and DJ, Nigel Richards, plans to take a break from spinning every once in a while to welcome guest DJs and performers, including house music artists, Philly Housing Project.
