The interactive civics website “Justice Learning” (www.justicelearning.org) has been nominated for what TIME magazine calls an “Online Oscar”—a Webby Award in the category of law. “Justice Learning,” a collaboration between the public radio program “Justice Talking” (run out of Annenberg) and The New York Times Learning Network, features information on law and justice issues of the day, including free curricula and detailed historical timelines on the Constitution. The awards recognize excellence in web design, usability, creativity and functionality.

Strut your stuff

Spring kicks off in style this weekend with a West Philly Arts Fair to celebrate World Dance Day. The event, which takes place Saturday, April 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at International House, features live performances by 17 local artists in dance, music, poetry and theater. The lineup is diverse and sure to be lively with flamenco dancer Dolores Luis Gmitter, hip hop maven Melanie Cotton, poet Gweny Love and more. House overhaul

Amy Gutmann plans to recommend a major College House revamp at the May Trustee meeting. While the priority is improving heating and air conditioning, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, new flooring throughout the buildings and brighter corridor lighting as well as improved kitchens and bathrooms will also enhance the residential spaces. Work is set to begin this summer with Harnwell House. After the infrastructure improvements, which will cost an estimated $16.5 million, construction will begin on Phase II of the project, building floor lounges on alternating floors of Harnwell. The total four-year project cost is estimated at $106.5 million.
