The Morris Arboretum has long been known for its beautiful grounds. Pictures of some of these trees, gardens, and other flora are now available in a book of photographs by longtime Director Paul W. Meyer. The book, “Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania: Through the Lens of Paul W. Meyer,” is a collection of his best photos from the past 10 years. Meyer, a self-taught photographer, culled his collection of more than 30,000 images to 500. “So many of the places photographed wouldn’t have existed as they are 20 years ago,” says Meyer. “By arranging these images in one place, we’ve created an important historical record of the Morris Arboretum that I hope will be an inspiration and guide to future stewards of this historic landscape.” The book is available at the Arboretum’s gift shop and at the Penn Bookstore.

The Arboretum began in 1887 as the summer home of brother and sister John and Lydia Morris. It became part of Penn in 1932 and is now recognized as the official arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. For more information, go to www.morrisarboretum.org.
