Proof positive

The Office of the Provost has announced the theme for the 2012-2013 academic year: The Year of Proof. Throughout the year, Penn’s schools and academic centers will be encouraged to explore the many facets of intellectual inquiry that define or approximate proof. Possible topics of study include scientific proof, legal evidence, proof of authorship, proof versus faith, and more.

Year of Proof Grants of up to $750 are being offered by the Office of the Provost to fund research and programs pertaining to the Year of Proof theme. Proposals will be evaluated on the quality and innovation of the project and its potential to engage and involve the Penn community. Multi-disciplinary and collaborative projects are highly encouraged. Grant guidelines and an application form are available at www.themeyeargrants.org. Proposals will be reviewed in cycles beginning April 1, 2012.
