World’s end?

Discounted tickets for staff and faculty are now on sale for the Penn Museum’s spring exhibition: “MAYA 2012: Lords of Time.” Opening on May 5, the exhibition delves into the popular belief that the ancient Maya predicted the end of the world would happen in 2012.

The exhibition, which runs through Jan. 13, 2013, leads visitors on a journey through the Maya’s detailed interest in time, expressed through their intricate calendar system. Visitors will explore the Maya world through interactive experiences and more than 100 artifacts, including objects recently excavated by Penn Museum archaeologists from the site of Copan, Honduras. Penn faculty and staff can purchase tickets for themselves for $10.50 (regular adult admission is $22.50) at the Museum’s Warden Garden entrance admissions desk during regular Museum hours.
