PIK professor
Dorothy Roberts, an acclaimed scholar of race, gender, and the law, has been named the 14th Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor, effective July 1. Roberts will be the George A. Weiss University Professor of Law and Sociology, with shared appointments in the School of Law, where she will be the inaugural Raymond Pace and Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander Professor of Civil Rights, and the Department of Sociology in the School of Arts and Sciences.
Since 1998, Roberts has taught at Northwestern University, where she is currently the Kirkland & Ellis Professor at the School of Law and professor of African-American studies and sociology. She earned a J.D. in 1980 from Harvard Law School and a B.A., magna cum laude, in 1977 from Yale University.
