Sixers to host Penn night for students, alumni, and employees
Red and Blue will be in the house when the Philadelphia 76ers take on the visiting Miami Heat in the last home game of the season on Wednesday, April 15, at 8 p.m.
Penn Alumni Relations has teamed up with the Sixers to host “Penn Night at the 76ers” at the Wells Fargo Center. University alumni, faculty, staff and students are invited to share in the fun at the networking event, which will begin before the opening tip with a performance by the Penn Band on the main concourse of the arena.
At 7 p.m., Sixers co-owners Joshua Harris and David Blitzer, both Penn alumni, will participate in a pre-game panel with the first 80 fans from Penn who purchase tickets. Harris, chief investment officer of Apollo Global Management, graduated from Wharton in 1986. Blitzer, a senior investor at Blackstone, an investment and advisory firm, is a 1991 Wharton alumnus.
The Penn Quaker will join the Penn Band at half court to pump up the crowd during spirited halftime festivities.
After the game, Penn ticket holders can say, “Cheese,” and pose center court for a group photo.
All ticket holders will receive a free Sixers T-shirt and drawstring bag.
Hoopes Wampler, assistant vice president for Alumni Relations, says interest in attending “Penn Night at the 76ers” is high.
“I think it’s a great way for Penn to show school pride,” he says. “It will be a real festive event for Penn. We’re looking to have a fun, family-centered night.”
Ticket prices start at $30 for upper level mezzanine seating; lower level corner seats start at $55 and club level seating is $84. Center court seats start at $130. To purchase tickets, visit the 76ers website and enter Promo Code PENN76.
All tickets purchased for “Penn Night” will be entered in a raffle for special 76ers experiences. Eighty winners get the chance to line up for the High 5 Tunnel, greeting Sixers players as they run onto the court for warmups. Twenty people will win the opportunity to take a locker room group tour during the second half of the game.
The raffle will be held Friday, April 10. Winners will be notified before the game.
