Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in True Green Fashion With RecycleMania Seminar: “Innovation in Recycling”

 

WHAT:

In support of RecycleMania efforts at the University of Pennsylvania, Penn’s Wharton School will host a panel discussion, “Innovation in Recycling,” with representatives from area companies providing an inside look at the ways in which businesses are reducing waste and developing a new green economy.

Panelists:

Ron Gonen, co-founder and CEO of RecycleBank, which partners with cities and haulers to reward households for recycling. Participating households earn points that can be used at local and national businesses. In 2009, the United Nations Environment Program designated RecycleBank as “Champion of the Earth.”

Lisa Conway, account executive of InterfaceFLOR, a modular carpet tile company that has developed innovative manufacturing processes to reduce waste and eliminate toxins.

Kevin Brooks, founder of Kevin Brooks Salvage, a Philadelphia demolition company that salvages recoverable materials to reduce construction waste and works with a network of designers and builders who incorporate reclaimed materials into their development projects.
