Computerworld Names Penn to Annual List of Best Places to Work in Information Technology

PHILADELPHIA -- Computerworld has selected the University of Pennsylvania as No. 8 of the top work places for information technology professionals in America and as the top workplace for IT professionals in the Mid-Atlantic states.  This honor is part of the weekly IT publication's 12th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, which was published in the June 27 issue and online at Computerworld.com.

Since 1994, the Computerworld annual "Best Places to Work in IT" feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, this year Computerworld surveyed IT workers for the list, including one-third of Penn information systems and computing employees, and their responses factored heavily in determining the rankings.

"Penn Information Systems & Computing is honored to be selected as one of the 100 Best and we are proud to represent Penn in the IT community as a wonderful employer of choice," said Robin Beck, vice president of ISC.   "We believe Penn's great benefits and HR programs, as well as ISC's culture of collaboration and diversity, our ability to provide interesting and challenging work assignments and training opportunities and the clear alignment with our clients that ensures IT adds value to Penn are some of the factors that make us one of the best places to work."

"This year Best Places to Work rankings represent companies across the industry that recognize how a strong commitment to and investment in employees is synonymous with creating a great IT work environment," said Don Tennant, editor-in-chief of Computerworld.
