Hilton Inn at Penn Honored With AAA Four-Diamond Rating for 10th Consecutive Year
PHILADELPHIA – The Hilton Inn at Penn received a Four-Diamond rating from the American Automobile Association for the 10th consecutive year, based on an Aug. 5 inspection. The hotel, located at 3600 Sansom Street, was one of six Philadelphia hotels to receive this designation.
In this annual inspection, an AAA representative completes a detailed review of all public spaces and several of the Inn’s 238 guestrooms.
“This rating signifies an exceptionally high level of quality and refinement in all guest contact areas of our facility,” Greg Stafford, general manager of the Inn at Penn, said. “Only about 3.5 percent of all hotels in the United States are rated at the four-diamond level.”
The Inn’s décor is urban contemporary, blended with the Arts and Crafts style of the hotel. A $10 million full renovation is set to begin in mid-November and is expected to be completed by March. A model room, showcasing the proposed renovations, was completed last month.
“After looking at the model room, the AAA inspector advised us that our room product would be the best in Philadelphia after our renovation,” Stafford said.
The Inn at Penn opened in 1999 under the management of Promus Hotels and in 2001 came under the umbrella of the Hilton Corp. Many of the 144 staff members have been at the hotel since its opening, and many make their homes in West Philadelphia.
The AAA’s highest rating is five diamonds, which has been awarded to only a handful of hotels worldwide.
