Hispanic Magazine Ranks University of Pennsylvania No. 5 Nationally for Latino Students
PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania has been named the No. 5 school in the country for Hispanic students by Hispanic Magazine.
In making its selections, the magazine looked at selectivity, graduation rates, student-to-faculty ratio and academic excellence, Hispanic enrollment, cultural programs, organizations and support for Hispanic students, the percentage of Hispanic faculty and the percentage of students receiving financial aid.
"To have Penn ranked among the top five colleges and universities for Latino students is truly gratifying," Penn Provost Ron Daniels said. "All of us here work hard to encourage students of all backgrounds to join us to learn, to grow and to take advantage of all that this institution has to offer.
"Everyone at La Casa Latina, Penn's Center for Hispanic Excellence, makes an enormous contribution to the University as a whole and to Latino students in particular," Daniels said.
Harvard University topped the Hispanic Magazine list.
