Four players scored in double figures in the men’s basketball team’s 91-61 defeat of Lafayette on Tuesday evening at The Palestra. Junior guard Devon Goodman led the Quakers with 16 points, shooting 7-11 from the field, including 2-4 from the three-point line.

The Red & Blue opened the game with a 17-6 lead before the Leopards tied it at 17-17. Hot shooting and scrappy defense propelled Penn to a 7-0 run, followed by a 9-0 run. At halftime, the Quakers were ahead 44-27.

Penn scored 16 of the first 19 points in the second half, on their way to a blowout victory.

Junior forward A.J. Brodeur had 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Senior guard Antonio Woods scored 14 points. Sophomore forward Jarrod Simmons had 11 points. Senior forward Max Rothschild grabbed a team-high six boards and dished out six assists.

The Quakers shot 57.4 percent from the field (35-61), including 44.8 percent from the three-point line (13-29). The 13 three-pointers were made by seven different players. Despite the absence of injured guard Ryan Betley, the Red & Blue scored 90 points for the second straight game.

Gearing up for this weekend’s Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Penn is 3-0 for the second time in the Steve Donahue era.
