PHILADELPHIA – Thomas Sargent, a 2011 winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, will lecture on “Continental Drift: The Forces Underlying the Euro Crisis” on Jan. 28 from 4:30- 6:00 p.m. in College Hall, Room 200. Co-sponsored by the Penn economics department, the lecture is part of the University of Pennsylvania Social Science and Policy Forum’s spring series of events.                                                                        

Under the leadership of Thomas Sugrue, professor of history and sociology at Penn, the Forum, launched last spring, focuses on a new theme each year.  This academic year’s theme is the global economic crisis.
