Is there "love at first sight? " It might have taken Harry 96 minutes to finally hook Sally, but it might not take as long as you think to select a mate, according to Penn psychologist Robert Kurzban. In a recent study, he, with colleague Jason Weeden, looked at dating data from 10,526 anonymous participants of a company that organizes "speed dating" sessions and found rare behavioral data on how people genuinely act in dating situations.
At the July Penn Science Cafe, Dr. Kurzban will lead a safari into the dangerous world of dating in order to get an evolutionary perspective how these creatures we call Homosapiens actually interact in the wild.
