PennMOVES Sale to Benefit United Way Charities
WHAT:
The University of Pennsylvania’s second annual PennMOVES – (Move-Out Volunteers Engaging in Service)
This will be a sale of the items left behind by students during move out — clothes, furniture, kitchen gear, non-perishable food items —that would otherwise be destined for the landfill. These items have been collected and arranged by category and are available for purchase.
WHEN:
Early-bird admission, 8-10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, $5 fee; free admission, 10 a.m.–2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, June 6-7
WHERE:
Class of 1923 Ice Rink
31st and Walnut streets, lower level
Free parking is available adjacent to the rink.
WHO:
Penn is partnering with the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, which will distribute the proceeds from the sale to organizations in West Philadelphia.
DETAILS:
Last year more than 85,000 pounds of items were collected across campus and distributed directly to local charities identified by Penn’s Netter Center for Community Partnerships.
