Penn's Field Center and Montgomery County to Announce "Information Portability Project" to Improve Child Welfare

 

WHO: The University of Pennsylvania’s Field Center for Children’s Policy, Practice and Research, Montgomery County, Stewards of Change, Motorola and Microsoft.

WHAT: A press conference announcing new technology, the “Information Portability Project,” that will revolutionize the child-welfare system with the goal of preventing tragedies and saving children’s lives.

WHY: This press conference will announce a contract to design a new model of information sharing across human-service agencies and the development of new hand-held technology aimed at protecting children’s lives.

This new technology revolutionizes the child-welfare system by providing caseworkers with real-time access to critical information and technology and enabling documentation of home visits to child-abuse and neglect victims.
