WHO: Penn student volunteers and their grade-school partners will launch rockets as part of a week-long summer course designed to get young people excited about science and technology.
WHAT: InnoWorks is an innovative science and engineering initiative, "By Students, For Students," designed and implemented by college volunteers for middle-school students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
WHERE: Hill Field, northeast corner of 34th and Walnut streets on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania
WHEN: Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 11:25 a.m.
DETAILS: Forty middle-school students from schools Mariana Bracetti, the Science Leadership Academy and Penn Alexander spend the week on science projects not typically be available in their schools. Penn student volunteers assist with experiments incorporating the five senses.
