WHAT:           Race and Sports Lecture at Penn and film screening and discussion of “Little Ballers"

Set against the backdrop of New York City, “Little Ballers” tells the story of four diverse 11-year-old boys and their legendary coach as they set out to win an AAU National Championship. For these young men, basketball is a passion and holds a special meaning: escaping poverty, getting an education, living the American dream and bonding with a father. But more than anything, basketball offers them hope.

A discussion with Bill Rhoden, The New York Times sports columnist, and “Little Ballers” director Crystal McCrary will follow the screening.

The screening and discussion is a presentation of the University of Pennsylvania Annual Race and Sports Lecture, held every year during the Penn Relays. It is sponsored by Penn’s Wharton Sports Business Initiative and Center for Africana Studies.
