Searches underway
The search is on for two new deans - one for the Law School, and another for the Wharton School, University officials announced Nov. 9.
Gary Hack, dean of the Graduate School of Fine Arts, has agreed to chair the search committee for a new dean of the Wharton School. Richard Herring, professor of finance and vice dean and director of the Wharton Undergraduate Division, will chair the search committee for the new dean of the Law School.
Members of both committees include faculty, alumni, undergraduate and graduate students and overseers (for a complete list of committee members, refer to the Almanac on-line).
"Following consultation with the schools and undergraduate and graduate student groups, we now have in place terrific deans' search committees," Interim Provost Michael Wachter said in a written statement.
"We are fortunate that so many thoughtful individuals were willing to commit their time and energy to these important searches," Wachter said.
