For those of you who always fall asleep during lectures, CGS Summer Sessions has the perfect solution: lectures so short, it'll be impossible to fall asleep in them.
"The Don't Be Late 60-Second Lecture and What's for Lunch Series" is just the ticket for those of you who have always wanted to sample the intellectual richness of the Penn faculty, but never had the time. On every Wednesday in June and July, at noon sharp, one of Penn's heavyweight lecturers will speak for just one minute on a subject of their choosing.
The lineup includes Professor of Arabic Language and Literature Roger Allen, English Professors Peter Conn and Al Filreis, Associate Professor of Classical Studies Joseph Farrell, Earth and Environmental Science Professor Robert Giegengack, Professor of Psychology Lila Gleitman, Chemistry Professor Ponzy Lu and R. Jean Brownlee Term Professor of Religious Studies Ann Matter.
And if you arrive late for the lecture, don't worry. There will be music, live performances, food vendors, free desserts and more to fill up the rest of your lunch hour.
