New Wharton deputy dean

David C. Schmittlein, the Ira A. Lipman Professor of Marketing and Chairman of the Marketing Department at the Wharton School, is the school’s new Deputy Dean as of March 1. He succeeds Patrick T. Harker, who was named Dean of the school Feb. 8.
   Schmittlein, a member of the Wharton faculty since 1980, has served as Marketing Department Chair since 1994 and served as Vice Dean and Director of Wharton Doctoral Programs from 1993 to 1995. He was also Co-Director of the Center for Marketing Strategy Research from 1982 to 1985.
Business Services finance team

Larry Bell (WG’89) takes over financial planning for the Business Services auxiliary units and new business development finances. Bell comes from the West Philadelphia Partnership, where he managed a consortium of medical and educational institutions, businesses and community organizations working to revitalize the neighborhood. He previously worked at Pepsi-Cola East, the West Philadelphia Enterprise Center and the Wharton Small Business Development Center.

Karen Zinn oversees the University’s real-estate portfolio and the financial management of its Community Housing program. Zinn, who is leaving her consulting practice of six years, consulted with the Department of Institutional Real Estate for four months before coming aboard full time in Business Services. Her past clients include Liberty Property Trust, Toll Brothers Inc., Right Management Consultants and Tactix Advisory Services.

Peggy McGee-Pasceri (W’78) leads financial planning for Campus Services, a job she had been performing until now on a consulting basis. She oversees the finances for Housing and Conference Services, Dining, Campus Card Services, the Bookstore, the Faculty Cub, the two hotels and Perelman Quad retail. She also handles the capital budgets for the housing and dining renewal project and Sansom Common.
