Summer in the city

We had hoped to be able to give you the complete rundown on all the fun activities the Summer Sessions staff have lined up for the lazy season in the day-to-day listings above. Unfortunately, Summer Sessions Director Valerie Ross and her colleagues were still hard at work snaring faculty and booking films and trips, so instead of giving you details, you’ll have to settle for the big picture here.

For those of you who were around last summer, all of your favorite events are back again this summer.

At noon, the 60-Second Lecture Series offers some of Penn’s finest faculty members giving brief — and we do mean brief — discourses on some of today’s hottest topics, accompanied by musical performances and food and drink from area eateries.

At night, you can spread out under the stars and enjoy classic and offbeat films with the Moonlight Movie Series.

And on the weekend, special excursions to such places as Six Flags Great Adventure, Franklin Mills Mall, Penn’s Landing and Bucks County let you explore all the fun things to do in the region. Weekly excursions to Mann Music Center concerts fill out the bill.

So you still want details? Fortunately, there’s the World Wide Web.
