Jack Shannon is now associate vice president in the Office of the Executive Vice President. Since 1997, he has served as Penn’s managing director for economic development. He came to the University after serving as inaugural director of the Mayor’s Business Action Team for Philadelphia.

Lucy Momjian brings more than 20 years of experience in Penn’s Finance Division to her new post as associate vice president for Finance and Treasury Management. In her new role, she will help implement Penn’s strategic financial planning initiatives and oversee the University’s commercial banking relationships.

Associate dean

Steven Oliveira is the new associate dean for External Affairs at the Wharton School. Among his various duties is the overseeing of Wharton’s $425 million campaign. He comes to Penn after leading a successful campaign at the University of Virginia’s Darden School, where he raised the largest single gift in the history of any business school.

Steffen W. Crowther is the new director of corporate relations of Penn’s Office of Development and Alumni Relations. She brings with her an impressive track record. During her time at Chase Manhattan Bank, she worked with international giants such as General Electric and General Motors. She leaves PNC Bank, where she served as vice president with senior marketing responsibility.

Sandra Kerbel joins the University Library as director for public services. In her new post, she will manage the wide coordination of information, instruction and reader services.

Caryn E. Lerman is the new associate director for cancer control and population science at Penn’s Cancer Center. A professor of psychiatry at Penn, Lerman applies molecular genetic technologies to develop new cancer prevention and control strategies. Her research focuses on how certain behaviors, such as smoking, can affect the outcomes of cancer in patients from high-risk families.

Hola, Casa Latina

Anamaria Cobo now leads La Casa Latina, Penn’s Center for Hispanic Excellence, as its new director. She leaves Swarthmore College after five years as assistant dean for the Intercultural Center.

Fresh face at ICA

Beryl Rosenstock has joined Penn as director of marketing and communications for the Institute of Contemporary Art. She was formerly with the Atwater Kent Museum and the National Museum of American Jewish History. She replaces former director Roy Wilbur, who now holds the corresponding post full-time at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts.
