YEARS AT PENN: 5
WHAT SHE DOES: Dawson and three other cashiers work in what is essentially Penn’s own bank. She handles deposits from across the University, gives out travel advances for students, processes student payments, handles refund checks and BEN Deposits and hands out petty cash. Each afternoon, the office receives and processes deposits from around Penn.
SHE PROBABLY KNOWS YOUR FACE: Dawson says she’s busy from morning to night, and she sees a ton of different people from all around Penn on the other side of her glass window. “I most enjoy the diversity, all the different students,” she says.
LENDING A HAND: Dawson is a patient person and is always willing to lend a hand to foreign students unfamiliar with the banking process in this country, or those who may be filling out a check or deposit slip for the first time.

In honor of Valentine's Day, and as a way of fostering community in her Shakespeare in Love course, Becky Friedman took her students to the University Club for lunch one class period. They talked about the movie "Shakespeare in Love," as part of a broader conversation on how Shakespeare's works are adapted.
