Wharton Sophomore Ankur Jain Appears on CNN
Ankur Jain, a sophomore in the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, appeared on CNN on March 20 to discuss the Kairos Society, an organization he founded to encourage entrepreneurship among college students. Jain spoke with CNN anchor Heidi Collins about how the Kairos Society is helping young entrepreneurs “re-invent the American Dream” by connecting student entrepreneurs from across the country with one another, as well as with leaders of successful innovative businesses. Kairos is holding its first summit April 3-4 in New York City, where former President Bill Clinton and William Gates Sr., chairman of the Gates Foundation, will deliver keynote addresses.
When Collins asked Jain how the recession might affect the efforts of young entrepreneurs, Jain noted that historically “some of the best companies have been started during tough times” and that the challenge for the Kairos Society is to help student entrepreneurs find success through “non-traditional pathways.”
