Get reacquainted with Penn perks at Employee Resource and Commuter Fair

For new employees, it’s a must-do and for those who have worked at Penn for some time, the Employee Resource and Commuter Fair is a great way to get reacquainted with everything the University has to offer.

The fair will take place on Monday, Oct. 11, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Bodek Lounge in Houston Hall. Admission is free and all staff and faculty are invited to drop by.

Sponsored by the Penn Professional Staff Assembly and the Penn Weekly-Paid Professional Staff Assembly in partnership with the offices of the Executive Vice President and the Division of Human Resources, the fair is designed to provide information regarding work-life and educational benefits, as well as cultural offerings available to the Penn community.

Informal, festive and interactive, the fair provides employees with a quick and enjoyable way to get information and collect free giveaways such as water bottles and PennCard holders. Visitors will also get the chance to win larger prizes in a raffle.

Commuters can learn how they can get to work using public transportation, biking or car-pooling instead of driving to campus. Representatives from Amtrak, SEPTA and PATCO will be on hand to help plan routes. A Pedaling at Penn table will focus on bike safety, maintenance and two-wheel commuting, and the Clean Air Council is expected to introduce a new “emergency ride home” program for those unexpectedly caught without transportation. Furthermore, visitors to the fair can learn more about discounts Penn employees receive when they use mass transit.
