Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) offers Ivy League classes to highly qualified adult students. Some LPS scholars are beginning or completing their bachelor’s degrees. But in recent years, LPS has also become a place for students seeking post-baccalaureate study in professional and pre-professional programs in the humanities, and natural and social sciences.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, LPS invites all staff members to attend an informational Penn Employee Undergraduate Programs Luncheon to learn more about how they can use their tuition benefits to take classes in LPS.

The LPS Recruitment team will be on hand to provide information and explain how the LPS degree and non-degree programs provide enough flexibility to meet the needs of today’s busy working adults.

Additionally, a current LPS student and recent alum will discuss their experiences in the program. The event takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m. at LPS, 3440 Market St., Classroom C.
 
“We recognize that taking the initial steps towards starting or completing an undergraduate degree, or even taking a class for personal enrichment, can be an exciting but sometimes overwhelming process,” says Nora Lewis, vice dean and executive director of LPS. “The luncheons and information sessions that we hold for Penn employees offer a wonderful opportunity to meet informally with our recruitment staff, to learn not only about the variety of our academic programs, but how the staff here at LPS can support you on your educational journey.”
 
Penn employees can also stop by the LPS offices during their weekly Walk-In Wednesdays. Held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 4:30 to 6 p.m., the sessions are a convenient way for potential students to meet one-on-one with a recruitment specialist. No appointment is necessary.

On the first Wednesday of each month, Yvette Bordeaux, director of the Professional Master’s Programs in Earth and Environmental Science (MES), is available to speak face-to-face with prospective MES and Master of Science in Applied Geosciences students.

Chris Pastore, program director of the Master of Liberal Arts (MLA) program, will be in attendance on Wednesday, Dec. 1, to speak individually with interested MLA students.
